I’m Still Here!

So sorry I sort of dropped off the face of the earth for a while.  I have been known to make myself so busy I lose track of time.  Not an excuse, but a fact.  I struggled through the offseason like so many of you, but now we’re on the brink of another exciting VERIZON IndyCar season and I promise I am going to be more active!

To start, have you checked out The IndyCar Blogs?  It’s a new site (@TheIndyCarBlogs on Twitter) compiling all the blogs that cover IndyCar in one place!  They’ve already posted some awesome links so check them out.  You might find a new blog or two to follow!  And I note this blog is on the “semi-active” blogger list.  Well I am going to change that!  My goal for this season is to post at least once a week, hopefully more during race weeks.

I’m excited about this season.  So much awesome news–whether you like the news/changes or not, you have to admit it’s been great having IndyCar in the news so much the past few weeks–and I can’t wait until next weekend when we have actual racing to talk about!!

So if you’ve enjoyed any of my writing in the past, please watch for future articles to appear here.  Thanks, as always, for reading!

IndyCarUK Review–MAVTV500, Auto Club Speedway, Fontana, CA

I was once again privileged to write a race review for IndyCar UK, this time as part of a roundtable with four other writers.  We agreed on some things, we disagreed on others, and it all adds up to some interesting race analysis. Special thanks to Adrian for giving me the chance to write again!

Grand Prix of Baltimore Informal TweetUp!

Hello fans!  I’ll be heading up to the Grand Prix of Baltimore in less than TWO DAYS and I can’t wait!!  Because it’s so much fun to meet other IndyCar fans, I agreed to take the reins on scheduling an informal TweetUp during the weekend.  We will meet at the IndyCar Fan Village at 1:30 PM on Saturday, August 31.  IndyCar quals end at 1:10 PM and the driver autograph session (which I am attending) takes place at 2:30, so this will give us all a chance to meet up, say hello, chat for a little while, and then those of us who want to go to the autograph session will have plenty of time to get in line.  (Last year the autograph session was held right next to the Fan Village stage.)

Spread the word (this has also been posted on Twitter with the #GPoBTU hashtag) to anyone you know who will be there, and I hope to see you there!

Random Thoughts on the Night Before I Fly off to Indy

So the day is almost here.  I’m heading to bed very soon and when I wake up (extra early, even for me) I’ll throw those last few things into my suitcase, load up the car, and head to the garage where I park for work every day.  The Hilton next door kindly provides a free shuttle to National Airport, and with the Army next door, my car will be safe while I’m away.  And who can resist a free ride to the airport, right?!
